Erma Bombeck once said, “Life is like a roll of toilet paper…the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.” How right she was. But I’m not talking about getting to the end of life. I’m talking about coming to the conclusion of Jan’s stay here.
Yesterday was Jan’s “Czeching Out” or his “Jan Voyage” party. Our time with Jan is really coming to an end. He flies home on July 5th, and until then, we have a tightly packed schedule. We will have a blast in these last few days, but the time will go even more quickly…just like the end of a roll of toilet paper.
Claire tried to have a little cry last night because Jan is leaving. I stopped her dead in her tracks. We don’t have time to cry right now. We only have time to enjoy ourselves. So, enjoy, we will.
Oh, for the love of my children…
